My Paragraph
In the morning he ran away scared and crying in bare feet. There it was. My Mum. Who told you I ran away? When did you get here because I just ran away? I was shivering in fear. I knew I was in trouble but I did not care.
Here is also how I made the simple to the complex sentence.
He ran away.
He ran away scared.
In the morning he ran away scared.
In the morning he ran away scared in bare feet.
In the morning he ran away scared and crying in bare feet.

Plants
Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. last week we grew a seed out of a cup, seed and some water. Here is a photo of what we have done. Today our teacher told us to answer some questions. The questions were...
What do plants always need to grow?
Why might sunflowers be good to grow for a space mission?
What is germination? How can you tell a seed has germinated?
Here is my DLO on me answering these questions.

Weet-Bix
Hi, guys welcome back to my blog today our teacher told us to write a procedural piece of writing. We needed to write it about what we had for breakfast. Today for breakfast I had weet-bix. Here is my writing about how to make it.
Weet-bix
Materials
- Bowl
- Weet-bix
- Milk
- Sugar
- Some diced fruit
- Spoon
Ingredients
- 2-3 Weet-bix
- One cup of milk
- Half a spoon of sugar
- A little bit of fruit
Steps
- Get the and put around a cup of milk
- Put the sugar in the bowl
- and heat the milk in the microwave
- Take it out and put our weet-bix and fruit in.
- Mix it and what about 2 mins
- And Enjoy
Conclusion
When you take it out from where you are heating it be careful
that you do not burn your self If you want to make it better eat
it quickly so it is crunchy and not soggy. Thank you.

Curing
Hi, guys welcome back to my blog today I'm going to be talking about curing and why we're doing this in science. We are learning about Mars so we are looking at what foods we can take with us. We have looked at three things that we could do to bring food to mars here is a DLO.

Hurumanu: Climate Change and the future
Aim; To look at the different ways we can prevent climate change in the future.
What places will be affected? It will take up most of the land in NZ
What else do we need to think about? places near rivers and Our native animals that are all going to die if we do not do something.
What other places around NZ will be affected? the other island like pacific islands.
What does this do to our drinking water? it can become saltier if saltwater is coming into the place where we get water like rivers,
What are the main concerns? saltwater will get in peoples drinking water.
What can we do?
- try not to use cars that use fossil fuels like electric cars.
- if you are building a new house trying to make a way to not use lots of energy.
- use public transport.
What is the one, silver bullet solution?
there is no silver bullet
What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
- get more renewable energy
- soler heating
- transports.
What are 3 others you can think of?
- using a bike to get to school
- recycling
- reuse some stuff like plastic bags and plastic bottles

Materials:
- Pizza box
- tin foil
- plastic raper
- vivid
- sisters
- tape
- straw
Steps:
- cut out a flap on the lid of the pizza box to that it is 5cm from the edge
- sellotape some tinfoil on the inside of the flap.
- sellotape some glad wrap so that the hole you have cutis covered over it the glad wrap.
- put a piece of black plastic at the bottom of the pizza box.
- make a square with some paper that fits on the edge of the box.
- put a marshmallow on the top of a biscuit
- put it on a plate and put it in the sun.
Conclusion
The smores were not cooked because of the sun near the oven. the positive thing that heat did not get out because we did our best and there was nowhere that the heat can get out.
Aim: To make a presentation that investigates different renewable energy's.
Section 1: Title Page
Section 2: Definitions
Define and provide a picture of each energy type.
Hydro Energy/ Hydroelectric energy is energy derived from the movement of water. Water has mass. It falls and flows downward due to gravity.
Solar Energy/energy emitted by the sun.
Wind Energy electrical energy obtained from harnessing the wind with windmills or wind turbines.
Wave EnergyWave energy (or wave power) is the transport and capture of energy by ocean surface waves.
Section 3; Investigate each of the 4 Energy types.
(Hydro, Solar, Wind, Wave )
- Type: Hydro
- Is it used in NZ? yes, most of New Zealand's energy is made up of hydro.
- Other Countries that use it? Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Austria, Switzerland, Venezuela, and several other countries use hydro energy.
- How is it used to generate electricity? energy derived from the movement of water. Water has mass. It falls and flows downward due to gravity.
- Draw and label a diagram of the main parts of the electricity generator? This can be done on paper and uploaded or on a drawing program on your device. I do not want any Internet images or pictures. They must be hand-drawn using a ruler and labelled.
- Type: wind
- Is it used in NZ? yes but not lots.
- Other Countries that use it? Germany, India Spain, The United
- Kingdom, France and Brazil all use wind power
- How is it used to generate electricity? A wind turbine captures
- the wind, which then produces a renewable energy source.
- Draw and label a diagram of the main parts of the electricity generator? This can be done on paper and uploaded or on a drawing program on your device. I do not want any Internet images or pictures. They must be hand-drawn using a ruler and labelled.

- Type: soler
- Is it used in NZ? yes
- Other Countries that use it? Germany, India Spain, The United,
- Kingdom, France and Brazil all use sun power
- How is it used to generate electricity? Solar energy is produced when sunlight strikes solar panels, which then turn solar power into usable electricity.
- Draw and label a diagram of the main parts of the electricity generator? This can be done on paper and uploaded or on a drawing program on your device. I do not want any Internet images or pictures. They must be hand-drawn using a ruler and labelled.
Section 4: Renewable Energy in the future.
List 10 ways that renewable energy will be used in the future to replace our current activities.
- boats cars
- robots
- houses
- petrel stations

Hurumanu - Wind Power
Hurumanu - Wind Power
Measuring weather.
Definitions:
- Anemometer: An instrument for measuring the speed of the wind.
- Beaufort wind scale: The Beaufort scale is an empirical measure that relates wind speed to observed conditions at sea or on land.

MATERIALS
- tape
- pencel
- x2 sticks
- x4 cups
- pin
STEPS
- Step one tape the four the cups on each edge of the sticks.
- Tape the sticks together to make a cross.
- Pin the cross to the rubber that is on the pencel.
Group Investigation.
Groups size: 5
Roles:
Groups size: 5
Roles:
- Timekeeper
- Counter
- Recorder
- Anemometer Manager
- Wind Manager
- Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
- When the timekeeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
- Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.
findings
| Place name on school grounds | Number of Spins in 15 seconds | |
| 1. | Field | 20 |
| 2. | Old J Block site | 15 |
| 3. | Grass hill in a quad | 10 |
| 4. | Tennis Court gate | 3 |
- USING A4 PAPER DRAW YOUR RESULTS ON A GRAPH.
- TAKE A PICTURE OF THE GRAPH AND UPLOAD IT TO YOUR BLOG
WHICH IS THE WINDEST AREA AND WHY? the filed is the windest area because there is nothing to stop the wind.
WHICH IS THE CALMEST AREA AND WHY? the tennis court gate because there are trees to stop the wind.
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE ON LAND TO BUILD A WINDMILL? On the field, because there is lots of space and there is lots of wind

CONCLUSION:
I found out the in a big open space will have more wind and a place with stuff blocking it will have not lots of wind.
On the field, the wind spun the anemometer 80 per min and the Beaufort Scale was a three.
At the old J block, site wind spun the anemometer 60 per min. That is once per second.
At the grass hill is crowned by buildings to there was not lots of wind. There were only 40 spins per minute.
And finally the gateway to the court It only spun 12 times per minute. because there were lots of trees around it and stopped the wind from getting there.
