Freak The Mighty

 Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. today for reading we got to choose a novel to read about. We had about 6 options to choose from. There were lots of good books but the one that stood out for me was Freak the Mighty. Before we read the book we needed for some activities to see if we liked the book.

I first one I did was, read the blurb, here it is.

Maxwell Kane is used to be called stupid. Worse still, everyone says he looks like his fearsome dad. Even his grandparents are a little afraid of him. But then he meets Kevin, who is not afraid of anything. Together with Kevin, the 'midget man" with the biggest brain in the world, Max can handle anything. Together they are Freak the Mighty, ready to slay dragons and rescue damsels in distress. But, as they soon find out, it isn't just damsels who need rescuing...

Open the book to any page and read it. here is what I liked about it.

It was a funny book and was not too hard or easy. It was full of interesting stuff. I think I would like this book.

WW1

 Hi guys, welcome back to my blog for the last few weeks, we have been learning about world war 1 and how to shaped NZ's history.  It was fun because I am learning new things. I found finding the right information was difficult. We did lots of reading about New Zealand. We needed to make a good DLO about this. I made a slide show as my DLO. Here it is. Night Vision

Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. For the last few weeks, we have been reading a book called Night Vision. We needed to explain the story for every couple of chapters. Here is my first activity for this book. This activity  I was summarising the story In one paragraph. Here it is.

This girl has a disease that makes her allergic to the sun. He lives in the forest. She sometimes she wears night vision goggles to see better in the dark. One day she saw a guy with dreadlocks driving at night down the side of the road. The pull up and dragged a fat man out of the car and put him in the driver seat. I think he had killed him. Then he pressed the gas to when the car catches it looks like he had did not kill the fat man.

Drama

Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. Today for drama, we read a story and we acted out six main parts of the story. The acted this by doing a freeze-frame. I will tell you about the six main parts. Here it is. also, the book was cold bok, Choy.

1.   Asom came to deliver vegetables.
2. Jakob was embarest so he went to the river and fell in and hit a rock.
3. Asom took Jacob and saved him and took him home and put him in bed.
4. Later Jacobs mum came and took Jacob and his wet clothes that were hanging from the ceiling.
5. When they were leaving They met miss bisip.
6. She said you are better not going to eat the horrible cabbage.

Benny

Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. Today for reading, I am reading a book called the Benny. We needed to read the story and answer the questions here it is.

What are some of the differences

between Benny and his friend?

One of them was tall and the other one was short and also one of them was skinny and the other was mostly muscle.

How does Benny’s friend feel about Benny’s new house?

seeing Benny means a bus trip. At his new place, there are gates and a security camera. My house doesn’t have that stuff. Last week, I took the bus to meet up with Benny, like we’ve been doing all holidays. I haven’t seen him since then.

How did the boy’s mother feel

about the incident? Do you think her reactions are justified?

I think that Rodney does not care who or what the bullet was for. He thinks it is cool and

The person was caught by the police because he was trying to sell smoke to a kid and I think the bullet dropped from the car.

He does not look cool any more because he got caught.

I think he has learned just because it looks cool does not mean it is right for you.

be your self and don't try to have or take something the is not yours.

The Tuna Fish

Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. Today we were reading a book called Tuna. I will give you info about this book and what it talks about. I hope you like it.

1. What does atipua mean?
This means mysterious.

2. What problem did tuna have?
Tuna was born in the heavens and the sun got to close and got hot so he came down to earth.

3. What type of animal was a tuna?
In Maori tuna is an eel.

4.what was the difference for the artwork from the book and the video?
The book looks better and was more detailed.

5. I liked the book it was for specific and looked better and also the words made more sense.

Armistice Day

Hi guys,  last week for our reading we have been looking at Armistice Day. Here is the W.A.L.T.  I am learning to make connections to our prior knowledge, books we have already read and things that happen in the real world. We looked at three texts. One was on News Hub,one was on YouTube and the last one was on Stuff. We have looked at all of them. I am going to tell you three facts about what I have learnt . Here it is . 😃

End of year test

 W.A.L.T.  prepare for our end of year PAT comprehension and STAR test. 

Hi guys  Today I am going to tell you about my end of the year tests.They are called  PAT comprehension and STAR test. We get tested at the start of the year and get tested at the end of the year  to see how much we have improved in a year.

 At the start of the year I got a stanine four. My goal is to get a stanine five or six. To  get this goal I need to reread, go back and check again, and  write the number of the question  and go back.

Hi for the last week we have been looking it the story'The three little pigs' I am going to tell you what is a antagonist and what is a  protagonist. I protagonist it a main charter or the person that is in the story the most. In the story of the three little pig the third pig was the protagonist because he tricked the wolf and he was in the story the most. In the three little pigs the antagonist is the wolf because he eat the first two little and tried to eat the third one. Here is  my multiple perspectives.

We go a book called mountaineer it was about Sir Edmund Hillary and his life. our teacher got two websites about  him and we went to explore in the two sites and we needed to make a time line about him. 

what is a time line? a time line is a dates  of some one but the date some writing and a photo.

1 week ago we read a book called five dollar I did some inferring. I read the book and went back and tried to know what he was doing. inferring is when a person is reading between the lines. Good readers understand what writers often tell more than they say with words.  I hope you like it.
