Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. Yesterday for reading we read about the gold rush in New Zealand. I have some facts for you to share. Here they are.
Gold is very expensive. It looks attractive shiny and it is very heavy. It is also hard to find. Gold is usually found near quartz. Quartz is a type if cristal. Gold is malleable. this means that you can melt it.
A long time ago gold was found in lots of places in New Zealand like Otago, South Island, the West coast Golden bay and much more. Since 1861 Otago found 260 tonnes of gold. Also on the West coast in 1865, there were about 274 tonnes on the west coast.
When anyone asked a miner were can I find gold. The miner world always say were it be there it be. The first European to discover gold in New Zealand was Charles Ring. He was from Tasmanian. One place that he found gold was the Driver creek in 1852.
In Otago, the gold rush started in 1860, in the golden bay, the gold rush started in 1862, In the West coast, the gold rush started in 1865 and finally in coroandal it started in 1867.
