Skittles

Skittles

Aim: To separate colours from skittles by using the chromatography.


Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture.

Eg. blood, ink, drugs,

Materials

1. Green skittle.

2. Yellow skittle.
3. Two red skittles.
4. One purple skittle.
5. Orange skittle.
6. Petrie dish.
7. Water.


Process:

Step 1: Get the Petrie dish.

Step 2: Put All six skittle in the Petrie dish.
Step 3: Spread the skittles out evenly in the edge of the dish.
Step 4: Put some water to the top of the Petrie dish.
Step 5: Step away and watch it make colour
Step 6: at the end of the experiment you can eat the skittles.



Conclusion:  

I really liked this skittle experiment because it was cool seeing all the colours expand and take over other colours. chromatography  is then you use water to wash or make colour disappear. I have learnt that skittles can work in a lot of stuff even experiments.
