Treaty of Waitangi.

Hi, guys welcome back to my blog. Today our teacher gave us a video to watch About the Treaty of Waitangi. Here is the summary.


1. In the late 1830s, there were around 70 to 80 thousand Maori people in NZ.

2. They died from disease and wars.

3. The name of the main settlement was Russell.

4. The British saw France as a threat because they wanted to take their land.

5. The name of the person that made the New Zealand company was James Wakefield.

6. The British sent Hobson to New Zealand to set up the treaty and take over.

7. There was over 500 chiefs of NZ that sighed the treaty.

8. Sovereignty means crown control.

9. The people that were translated the treaty translated it wrong.

10. To win the war they made bunks under the ground.
