Summer Learning Journey 2019-20 | Week 2, Day 5 |activity 2

Hi, guys, today is the second week of the SLG. That stands for the summer learning journey. The purpose of it is for when you back to school from the big holiday your reading and writing does not drop in level. If you do not do the SLJ in the summer the stuff that you did through the year you will need to do all of it again.

Activity 2: Leading by Example [4 points]
Mother Teresa and Princess Diana were both people who wanted to do things to help others. They were very different people, however, they both had a significant impact on the world.
Mother Teresa was born in Eastern Europe but decided at a young age that she wanted to be a missionary (a person who gets sent somewhere to share their religious faith and do charity work). She moved to India where she worked hard and cared for those who needed her the most. Her work was recognised by the Catholic Church, which gave her the title of ‘Saint’ Teresa.
Diana, while not officially a saint, was a real-life princess. In her role as a princess, she travelled the world raising awareness about a number of important issues. Through her work, Princess Diana helped the world to see that all people, including those affected by illness and disease, needed love and respect. Princess Diana and Mother Teresa both led by example with acts of kindness towards others.

For this activity, we would like you to follow in their footsteps and perform a random act of kindness.
On your blog, describe your random act of kindness. What did you do? How did the person react? How did it make you feel?

Today I helped my mum clean the whole house. She was very happy and proud of me. It was lot of hard work. When I did this I made me fell happy.

  1. Hello David,
I am Vitaraag. Good job. I really like how you said what you did and how it made you feel. For some reason when I offer to help my mum I help her and when I don't want to do it anymore she gets angry at me. Did you offer for help or did she ask you to help? Maybe next time you could add a lot more information. Some of it was just the activty itself not your writing. I also like how you did something really simple. Overall I love this blog post. Keep up the phenomenal work!!

  2. Hi David,

I really liked when you said how you felt what you had done. I think that next time, you should add more information.

But, it was a nice post that you have created. Keep on doing the amazing work!

  3. Kia ora David,

Well done on completing yet another activity! :)

What a lovely gesture! I'd love for someone to offer to help clean my house - it's definitely one of my least favourite jobs. Do you do other things around the house to help you parents out?

Have a wonderful day and keep up the awesome blogging! :)

    Ka kite ano,

    Mikey
